One Happy Island

Do you have a place that feels like a second home? Well for me, mine is Aruba. It is an island located off the coast of Venezuela. The average temperature is in the high 80's and all I enjoy doing there is is laying on the beach drinking chilled refreshers.   Being on the beach makes me feel relaxed and not nearly as stressed.  It's the only place I can be my complete self and not have a worry in the world.  I love being able to have quality time with my family in one of my favorite places in the world.

All of the people that I have met in Aruba have been extremely friendly and welcoming.  And as you are just walking down the beach everyone is laughing and having such an amazing time. It is truly such a touching thing to see. It's like the world everyone has dreamed of, EVERYONE IS HAPPY, that is the reason it is known as One Happy Island. Some of the friends I met on the beach were workers there and they gave me deals on a lot of things in the area such as getting free boat rides on the water. This time when my mom, my family friend Mark and I go to Aruba on April 20th he knows a lot of people down there, one of them being the owner to Jolly Pirates, its kind of like a party boat, and we are going to be about to go on for free! There is also this really awesome rope swing on the boat that goes into the water and you cant go with more then one person at once.

I am so thankful that I have gotten to go here as many times as I have, well at all! Not many kids or let alone adults have even got the opportunity to leave Maine.

That One Best Friend

My best friend is, Samantha K. Daley. We got to really know each other in 7th grade when we had the same homeroom teacher. Teachers would often call us by each others name and still do today. But just like any other set of friends we have defiantly had our ups and your downs. Other then my mother and sister Sam has been my biggest supporter and has always had my back through thick and thin. She is very shy when introduced to new people but when you get to know her you can't get her to take a chill pill.

In the past four year I don't think we have gone a day without talking to each other. This past year has probably been our most eventful one yet! During the summer I was over to her house just about every day swimming, tanning, talking about boys, having pool parties, fires and just doing typical girly things. But it was one particular night when we were over at my house getting ready to go somewhere when she revived a phone call. Something tragic had happened to a family member. Sam was heartbroken, and I had to call her sister give her the message. There was no way that either of them were able to drive up to the hospital. So my mother and I brought them up. Holding my best friend while she was going through such a hard and scary time, felt like all I could do. And holding back was so hard for me to do because I am very close to that family member of hers, but I needed to be strong and be there of her. Going through times like this with Sam, I feel have only brought me closer to her and her family.

Sam has always told me to be strong and keep my head up. She is my number one, my rock, my princess and will be she will come before any man in my life. And I wouldn't change my best friend for the world! Love you princess <3
